Chapel Hill is located in the northeast corner of Marshall County and borders both Williamson and Rutherford County. It is the fastest growing community, both residentially and commercially, in Marshall County. The community was named in the early eighteen hundreds by John Laws, an early settler who moved from Chapel Hill, North Carolina and named the community after his hometown. Chapel Hill was charted in 1889. It is also the boyhood home of General Nathan Bedford Forrest, who served in the Confederate Army. |
