This is very responsible administrative, legal, and accounting work assisting with the maintenance of records, legal documents, and financial activities for Chancery Court. Activities associated with the job include assisting in the various duties performed in the office including filing pleadings in lawsuits, scanning case files into the computer, preparing new case files, preparing, and filing all child support enforcement petitions for contempt or foreign judgments of any Child Support Enforcement Division, and assisting the Chief Deputy or Clerk and Master with any other operations of the Chancery Court when requested. Additional duties include handling all Public Record Requests for the Chancery Court by completing these requests pursuant to the requirements outlined by the Tennessee Comptroller's Office and the Public Record Policy of the Clerk and Master. Job related duties require dedicated attention to detail, considerable knowledge of the functions and operations of Chancery Court, considerable experience performing administrative and accounting functions and strong interpersonal, organizational, and decision-making skills. Job performance is reviewed by the Chief Deputy in conjunction with the Clerk and Master through review of the timeliness, accuracy, and thoroughness of completed accounting transactions, knowledge of the functions and processes associated with Chancery Court and interpersonal, organizational, and decision-making skills. Necessary Special Requirements
Preferably, graduation four-year high school degree supplemented with paralegal courses, of record keeping, or generally required office maintenance; considerable experience in court proceedings and office administration; considerable experience working with computerized applications; strong organizational, decision making and interpersonal skills; dedicated attention to detail; or any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
Necessary Special Requirements
• Possession of a valid Tennessee Driver’s License.
• Must pass a criminal background check prior to employment.
• Must be bondable.
• No criminal convictions.
• No active bankruptcy.
